A “leak” can mean several different things. Water may be escaping through a joint, spilling over because the gutter is clogged, running behind the gutter, or missing the gutter entirely because of roof-edge or alignment issues.
Common leak points
- Inside and outside corners
- End caps
- Outlet connections
- Old sectional seams
- Damaged or punctured metal
Before resealing anything, confirm that the gutter is not holding standing water due to poor pitch. Sealant alone will not correct a drainage problem.
